The first round of the European Xterra tour was held in Sardinia, Italy on the 31st of May. It was also my first European race and it doubled as the ETU European cross triathlon championship for the first time. It was a full race of 500 athletes and pretty much every top class off road triathlete in Europe was there.

His first race, not counting the one where his tyre sidewall blew while he was in the lead, recently took place in the form of the Pembroke Duathlon.

Although he told us about it a little while ago, Jody has finally gotten round to collecting his MBE from the Queen. We couldn't be any prouder when we opened our local paper to see a picture of Jody shaking hands with the Queen.
Not only because, technically, we've now shaken the Queens hand (really? - Ed), but also because he's a genuinely nice guy who deserves all the credit he gets for the phenomenal amount of effort he puts in.
Congratulations mate.
