Saris are probably unique in the cycling storage world for placing almost as much emphasis on the look of their racks as their functionality.
Their Bones range of bike racks is the culmination of product designer Fabio Pedrini's philosophy: “Beautifully useful drives real innovation”.
Well, that's certainly good to know.
But whilst Fabio's designs are very good looking, undoubtedly the sexiest car racks out there – we're more interested in how easy they are to get on the car, load up and how secure they'll sit in transit, than whether or not we'll attract compliments for how attractive our method of lugging bikes is.
In this instance though they've really hit jackpot. The Saris Bones range are universally acclaimed as not just being the best looking, but far more importantly easy to use and the least likely to damage your car. As a consequence the best selling rear racks in the world. Fabio done good.
The Saris Bones Solo is their solution to those looking for a simple way to transport their bike.
Cheap, really a cinch to use with zero mechanical frame adjustments. We've tried fitting one to five different car models and not had any problems at all. It's secure, didn't seem to rattle at all when in use and is genuinely quick to fit.
Downsides? To be brutally honest, we'd question the usefulness of a bike rack for one, particularly if you only wanted one bike rack. You might as well buy one of the equally well designed larger capacity Bones racks, but for those who are looking for a simple uncluttered and yes, good looking way to carry one bike – this is it.
