As promised here’s a brief glimpse at another exciting new bike from Giant set for release for 2010.
If your not aware of the 2009 Anthem X’s then they are (were!) Giants lightest full suspension race bikes and under Giant rider Adam Craig have won numerous US national XC races.
Well, as a company dedicated to product development Giant didn’t hang about when it came to bettering an already great design, cue the Anthem X Advanced SL.
The interesting bit in the rather lengthy name is ‘Advanced’. This refers to the fact that the frame is now made of carbon fibre, and as Giant are just about the best when it comes to making a good carbon frame this is shaping up to be a very interesting bike indeed.
“After field-testing prototype versions of this bike the
past few months, I can say without question that it’s the most capable XC bike
I’ve ever ridden,” Adam says. “The stiff, lightweight and comfortable feel of
the composite frame combined with the Anthem X Maestro suspension system makes
for a bike that’s World Cup fast but also ready to rip on real mountain bike
trails.”
“We wanted to incorporate some of the technical features and advantages of our composite road frame technology—the massive downtube shape and the super-stiff bottom bracket area for example—and blend these with our suspension technology to create the best-performing, most versatile cross-country race bike possible,” said Dennis Lane, Giant’s global product development manager.
All sounds good to me. We don’t know any specs yet but rest assured that as soon as we do, you will as well. Watch this space!
