There’s been a
mid-season release from the ever-busy folks at Giant that’s just for us in the
UK; the Talon,
A range of UK specific hardtails.
The AluxX frames have great, singletrack friendly geometry matched with short stems and a slack-ish head-angle to give secure, twitch-free handling to encourage riders to maybe push things a little further on technical single track. At the same time they manage to keep a relaxed riding position, which should give many comfortable hours in the saddle.
These look to be spot on for their intended purpose; UK trail center riding, and lets face it, that comprises the bulk of what the majority of riders do every weekend.
With prices
starting at £425 for the Talon
3, and rising to the £850 Talon
0, they will be replacing quite a few old favourites, including the Rainier
and Terrago.
The womens specific Talons 2w and 3w will doubtless replace something current in the range, but that’s no bad thing as these new models look spot on, and as usual, come in better colours than the gents models!
All the current models are still available (in limited numbers!) and as mentioned the Talons wont be with us for a few weeks yet (4-6 weeks), but they are well worth a look. I’ll be trying to get my mitts on one to put it through its paces as soon as possible.
I’ll let you know if they are as good as they look.
