Arch 2 Arc Triathlon
Ever heard of the Arch 2 Arc triathlon? It calls itself the most gruelling endurance event around and the staggering numbers involved back this up.
An 87-mile run from the Marble Arch in London to the Dover coast, then the athlete swims the channel, then as a gentle warm, down cycles 180 miles from Calais to the Arc de Triopmhe.
It’s not really possible to embellish those stats, just wonder about the kind of individual that it takes to complete it – it’s hardly surprising when you learn that only three people have ever managed to finish the event as a solo event.
The person attempting to be the fourth (and youngest) Dan Beaver, put it into perspective when he recently got in touch with us: “Less people have succeeded in swimming the English channel than have reached the summit of Mt Everest, only one in ten who try succeed.”
As well as pushing their bodies to the absolute limit, the participants also attempt to raise money for a chosen charity. We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on Dan to see how he gets on and you can too thanks to his training blog.
